Vegan Waffles



Bake King Plain Flour     180g
Baking Powder              1.5 Tbsp
Salt                              Pinch
Billington's Golden
Granulated Sugar          3 Tbsp
Zest of 1 lemon

Milk/ Unsweetened
Non-dairy Milk                    250g
Lemon Juice                       1/2 a lemon
Vanilla Bean Paste               1tsp
Oil (Neutral Flavoured)        3tbsp




Vegan Waffles

1. Mix all dry ingredients (A) in a bowl.
2. Combine milk and lemon juice and let stand for 5 minutes to make buttermilk.
3. Add in vanilla and oil to the 'buttermilk'.
4. Add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix using a hand whisk. Do not overmix the batter, a few clumps is fine. 
5. Preheat waffle machine. This allows time for the batter to rest.
4. Make waffles according to the machine's instructions. This recipe makes approximately 8 waffles.
